On the morning of the 18th July 2019 we met 30 of our 60+ Active Communities participants at TopGolf, Addlestone for a morning of golf, fun and food. Members from the Eileen Tozer Centre, The Dementia Carers Support group and the Orchard Dementia Centre joined us to test their skills on the 14-hole adventure golf course. They set off in 6 teams to navigate the course, avoiding the water and crocodile hazards that tried to put them off their game! After the golf, all the participants enjoyed a great lunch, where the food was secondly only to the laughs and banter of the morning.
Maggie and Ann from the Eileen Tozer centre explained how ‘it was great to be together and to have a natter – and it’s really accessible to others!’ Audrey from the Dementia Carers Support group agreed calling it ‘a really fun day!’ Finally, the clients from the Orchard had a ‘great day’ stating ‘it was lovely to be in the fresh air, I’m really surprised at my success!’
It was a great day out had by all before starting our Super Summer Series this week!
Thank you to the Wisley Foundation for their support.
